Conventional facing heads with balancing, or weight compensation, work by means of the counter movement of a working and adjusting slide.
The systems found on the market provide weight compensation in one plane (static balancing). However, this can produce a wobble. By using a slide which moves in the opposite direction the drive power is also doubled.
Slide tools with eccentric adjustment have the disadvantage that any production forces have to be absorbed with the drive chain and definition of the blade position is very difficult.
HQB technology represents the best possible flat action facing heads with compensation for imbalance.
This allows HQB technology to be used in spindle speed ranges which were previously reserved for the round actuating slide principle. In addition HQB technology allows a considerable reduction in drive power on the draw bar.
