A call is being issued by The Manufacturing Institute for delegates wishing to attend the final two week Lean Learning Academy being held at the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Halewood on Merseyside.
The company is now ramping up for production of the exciting new Range Rover Evoque so this will be the final Lean Learning Programme at the plant for the time being. This is primarily because candidates will no longer be able to use the plant as a ‘learning aid’ and complete the significant practical tasks and experience working normally undertaken on the production line.
The Lean Manufacturing educational programme, held in conjunction with Jaguar Land Rover as a recognised centre of excellence in lean manufacturing, has been successfully teaching leadership skills and techniques to supervisors and managers from manufacturers nationwide.
Gareth Howard from S&B UK Ltd completed the Jaguar Land Rover Lean Learning Academy and commented: "I enjoyed the course and came back with some good ideas which have already been implemented at work, particularly on TPM and ideas how to improve our SOP’S.
The JLR staff I met went above their duty on occasions, answered all queries I had, and even took me on tours at lunchtime - I think they do an excellent job".
The final two-week Academy at Halewood commences on 22 nd November.
