Standard robots can now be used for machining 3 dimensional parts in composite and light aluminium.
In a unique development High Gain, Kuka and Del Cam International have combined their technologies to facilitate the high speed machining of large composite parts.
As part of the collaboration High Gain are providing Faemat spindles which are ideally suited to the application.
Complete machining systems are suitable for machining a wide range of composites in the boat building, tool making and aerospace fields.
In the application here the robot and Femat spindles are seen machining a scale model of a boat hull.
In another robotic application the Cybaman replicator has revolutionised the method of gold ring manufacture where the seats for diamond setting are high speed machined at 40000 rpm using a Faemat spindle and ILC minimal coolant system.
Both units are supplied to Cyba Manufacturing by High Gain.
