Mühltal, 12.09.2011 – DATRON AG is presenting, for the first time, its new "DATRON C5" high-speed milling machine at the EMO Hannover (19 to 24 September 2011), the best solution for cost-effective, high-precision five-axis simultaneous machining of small pieces..
The new HSC machine tool was especially developed for precision milling of small pieces with a single clamping operation, to be used for example in medical technology applications, the watch and jewellery industry, or tool and die construction. All cuttable materials up to a diameter of 60 mm can undergo 5-axis processing simultaneously, allowing machining of highly complex geometries.
An excellent surface quality is achieved due to the stiff, low-vibration design of the DATRON C5. The rotary swivel axis driven by dynamic torque motors guarantees perfect reproducibility while maintaining high process reliability.
An extremely high cutting performance can be achieved with its 1.8 kW high-speed precision spindle with up to 48,000 rpm, especially for the smallest tools. High-quality ball screws and guides with built-in linear scales provide for very high precision.
The automatic tool changer has 22 slots and an integrated tool-length measuring device.
Excellent value for money, short setup times and low energy consumption of less than 2.5 kWh average, allow for high cost-effectiveness even at low enable even at low number of pieces production.
And all this with a footprint of only 1 m2.
