As well as better concentricity and fast changeover, users of the Hainbuch collet-style systems experience high-accuracy clamping of up to 0.004 mm TIR and higher clamping forces - up to 50 per cent more, with the same drawbar pull, than a conventional jaw or collet chuck.
The systems are an outstanding success on machining centres, gear cutters and milling machines in addition to supplanting conventional chucking techniques on single- and multi-spindle autos.
Capable of handling parts up to 1000 mm diameter, Hainbuch collet chucks differ from standard chucks in that they can also securely hold short component lengths. This is due to the positive pull-back and clamping action - the clamping head being pulled into a perfectly mating taper.
