Roemheld’s new range of electric wedge clamps, swing clamps, zero point mounting systems, machine vices, block cylinders and work supports proved a huge draw for eco-conscious visitors at EMO 2011.

On display were new electric clamping elements developed for use on hydraulic-free machines, machining centres and working places under clean room conditions and in the food industry. They are extremely quiet and, without energy supply, intrinsically safe, as they maintain the holding force even after separation from the power supply system.

Also attracting attention at the show were the new series of Roemheld hydraulic power units equipped with an intelligent, low-current control and a specially-configured electronic pressure switch. This switch enables the required operating pressure to be built up with minimised energy consumption and as soon as the target value is reached, the power unit switches to the energy-saving shut-down mode.

An innovative zero point mounting system was also launched at the show that features an easy click system which removes the need for a power source and is ideal for use in an automated cell.
