Sandvik Coromant extend range of Silent Tools milling adaptors

 

Sandvik Coromant, the cutting tool and tooling system specialist, is set to extend its range of innovative Silent Tools milling adaptors. Available in lengths 4-5xD, the new damped adaptors can provide productivity gains of more than 50 per cent over non-damped systems.

 

Available from 1 October, the new adaptors can enhance surface finishing significantly through reduced vibration capability, even with increased cutting data. They also allow longer engagement milling cycles through increased temperature limitation and the possibility to channel coolant through the arbor, thereby increasing tool life.

 

The full benefits of the Silent Tools patented damping mechanism can be applied to a wide variety of milling operations.
