The E404 Shark tap to DIN standard is manufactured from HSCo for its high hot hardness properties, allowing the tap to run under high cutting conditions.

The E048 MTT-X tap to ISO standard is manufactured from premium quality vanadium powder steel, branded HSS-XS1, for an unbeatable combination of toughness, edge strength and wear resistance.

SURFACE TREATMENT
Both taps are enhanced by the Super-B multi layer coating, which combines a soft, self lubricating, low friction coating with a hard, wear resistant one. It is particularly conducive to threading in tough, long-chipping materials such as Stainless Steel, as it has a high resistance to wear and built-up edges.

THREAD FORM
Both taps are available in Metric thread form.

GEOMETRY
3-radii flute profile to give a constant rake angle all along the flute length, leading to better control of cutting properties. 48º helix angle allows adequate room for chip formation, and rapid and smooth chip evacuation, for threading blind holes.

Optimised edge geometry specially developed for high quality threading in Stainless Steel. High relief on both chamfer and thread for rigid tapping in Stainless Steel. Back tapered to further facilitate chip evacuation and to reduce chipping on the last threads of the taps.
