  Description

Silver shark Features
This tap is designed with a high helix angle of 48º and a double coating of TiAlN on the thread and steam tempering in the flutes to allow a continuous threading operation, as swarf problems are virtually eliminated. The taps are for use in Steels and Stainless steels, AMG 1.1 - 1.5 and AMG 2.1 - 2.3.
White shark Features:
These taps are designed with specific geometry to cut threads in Cast Iron, AMG 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 & 3.4.
The surface treatments applied to these taps give an extra benefit to tool life and productivity.
Yellow Shark Features:
These taps are designed to be used on steels with medium to low tensile strength, AMG 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3. They are also successfully used on copper and brass, AMG 6.1 & 6.3. The chromium plating improves the surface finish of the thread and gives the added benefit of increased tool life.
Blue Shark Features:
These taps are designed with specific geometry to be used on stainless steels, AMG 2.1, 2.2 &2.3. The Blue Shark taps are subjected to a 'steam homo-tempering' process which helps prevent 'cold welding' and improves lubrication properties.
Green Shark Features:
These taps are designed with specific geometry to be used particularly on aluminium alloys and unalloyed materials, AMG 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 & 8.1. There are four types of Green Shark taps available.
Red Shark Features:
These taps are designed with specific geometry to be used on high tensile strength alloy steels, AMG 1.5 & 1.6. The geometry of these taps also allow them to be used on Titanium and Nickel alloys, AMG 4.2, 4.3, 5.2 & 5.3.
Black Shark Features:
The use of hardened materials in industrial processes is becoming more and more commonplace, creating a demand for new and innovative designs of cutting tools capable of machining under extreme working conditions.
