The new high performance cutting tool programme from Dormer
Tools offers the professional engineer a comprehensive range of End Mills and Roughing Cutters with geometry designed to achieve unbeatable metal removal rates with increased productivity at lower cost.
Primax cutters are produced exclusively from powder metallurgy steel (HSCo-XP) which guarantees an excellent resistance against wear at elevated temperatures and a high end toughness due to excellent distribution of carbons present in this material.
Geometry:
Primax Roughing Cutters are available with three different types of cutting geometry.
NR Round chipbreaker for roughing: These cutters are used for general roughing work where it is important to have as large an exportation of material in as little time as possible. The regrinding of these cutters should always be carried out in the flutes.
HR Chipbreaker fine, round profile for roughing: These cutters with a fine round chip breaking profile are especially appropriate for work on high resistance steels (up to 1200 N/mM2) as well as Titanium and Nickel alloys.
HRAFine HR asymmetrical chipbreaker : Makes for uniform contact between tool and workpiece throughout the machining process. These cutters allow enhanced performance particularly where micro-chipping or machine vibration would normally pose a problem.
FS Chipbreaker flat ground fine for roughing and semi-finishing: These cutters with a fine flat chipbreaking profile are employed for the semi-finishing of steels and non-ferrous materials.
Lengths, Shanks & Finishes
Primax Cutters are available in Short (DIN 327), Standard (DIN 844K) and Long (DIN 844L) series lengths with the option of Screwed, Flatted or Morse Taper shanks.
