Dormer’s new A509 is specifically designed for drilling in Stainless Steel and similar materials. The introduction of Dialub amorphous diamond coating, combined with the strength of the design, presents superior levels of productivity and extended tool life.
This newly developed Dialub amorphous diamond coating exhibits high hardness and low friction properties which increase the wear resistance of the drill, leading to long life and higher productivity.
Cutting through stainless steel with a low friction coating helps to avoid build-up along the cutting edges which in turn improves the hole quality. M42 HSCo Tool Steel is used for its higher hot hardness, which allows the drill to run under more extreme conditions.
The hole depth capability of this drill range is 4 x Diameter in one hit. Peck cycles in Stainless Steel should be avoided wherever possible.
